Join us for our first ever International Online Kata Tournament! Show off the progress that you have made during your at-home practice. Tournaments require you to PRACTICE, BUILD CONFIDENCE, and DEMONSTRATE PRIDE as you prepare to be watched and compete!

a) Post your video to YouTube, or another video sharing site, and send us the link (info@okinawankaratedojo.com). You can adjust privacy settings once you’ve uploaded the video.
b) Email it (Subject: Tournament Kata Entry), or send us the video file through cloud storage. You can use Google Drive to upload your video, and share the file with the dojo email (info@okinawankaratedojo.com) so we can view.
4) Wait for the results!

Minimize noise when filming. Assess lighting to maximize visibility.
Students must wear their full uniform! No T-shirts, sweat pants, or shorts! Full gi top and bottom, with belt tied correctly and neatly! Click here to learn how to tie your belt!
Make sure camera is still and able to capture all movements, from feet to head, all the way through! Tripod of standing camera might be best.
Any additional video editing (introduction, title screen, shots of alternate angles, etc). will not earn you a better score for your kata. Additionally, inappropriate videos (shaky camera, sound effects, background music, etc.) may decrease your score! When you perform kata, you must keep your composure and discipline from beginning to end.
