- Tips for Success
Minimize noise when filming. Assess lighting to maximize visibility.
Students must wear their full uniform! No T-shirts, sweat pants, or shorts! Full Gi top and bottom, with belt tied correctly and neatly! Click here to learn how to tie your belt!
Make sure camera is still and able to capture all movements, from feet to head, all the way through! Tripod of standing camera might be best.
Any additional video editing (introduction, title screen, shots of alternate angles, etc). will not earn you a better score for your kata. Additionally, inappropriate videos (shaky camera, sound effects, background music, etc.) may decrease your score! When you perform kata, you must keep your composure and discipline from beginning to end.
